1-1 tuition is like running the race alone, come first and live in a false hope that you are the best. In our group tuition, they compete and see the near real life competition. Most of our parents (after selection) have confirmed that their child got extremely benefited by the group tuition and it was an eye-opening experience. The students also meet their potential future classmates (at Grammar school) in our tuition.

They study in a group but are assessed individually. We have a strategy for each child and work with parents to have individual study plans. We refrain from persuading parents to explain our strategy. End of the day, our success stats speaks for itself that our large number of students are able to pass the 11+ exams.

We don’t set any false expectations. Every year we have mix of students - some are shy while others are chatty. They all learn from the teaching. We do probe them during the class to ensure that they are in sync with the tutor. However, if your child gets put off by healthy competition, then you are better off going to 1-1 tutor at home as the children in our class compete hard, quite similar to grammar school environment.

Apologies but we don’t offer a trial session. Most of our parents come by recommendations and word of mouth. We have large number of existing and new parents who are happy to pay + sign up straight for the classes. Also, we are generally over-subscribed and have limited seats. 

We teach all subjects, build strong fundamentals and provide mentoring that has enabled our large number of students to pass 11+ exams. We share the strategy and books with current parents only (i.e. after you have joined our tuition). Our methodology works and works well which you can see in our success stats.

PS: I hope you understand that a good chef would serve you delicious food but may not tell you the recipe. 

We teach using a combination of standard books and ACE Tuition study material. Most of the standard material is available at book stores and parents have to buy them. We do complement that with lots of our in-house material.

We have had children who did all the possible books and still failed the exam. It is not about how many books you have done but about how you have done them i.e. the strategy to crack each and every type of question.

You as a parent will need to manage and prioritise the homework. The private school homework may not be enough for what’s required for Grammar school preparation.

We suggest the standard homework. You can do less or you can do more depending on the capability of the child, time available etc. If your child is doing little or no homework, we might tell you to discontinue our tuition as it is waste of your money and our efforts.

The payment terms vary from Year 4 to Year 5 and by class. You have to pay by term in advance. A full set of T&C and payment schedule is provided before you sign up. 

The first 8 weeks of the tuition are non-refundable. Then you pay for each term and leave by end of the term if you are not happy. A full set of T&C and payment schedule is provided before you sign up. 

We appreciate parents who think and act fast. The clock is ticking and it is not a multi-million dollar deal. It is just a tuition. We suggest that you take up the space first, try for 8 weeks and then you can discontinue if you don’t like. FYI - a very high % of our students and parents are happy with our tuition and we have very high retention rate. A full set of T&C and payment schedule is provided before you sign up. 

You are actually late. The children targeting super-selectives are usually tutored over an year in advance. Starting late means you will have to catch up a lot and do plenty of hard work to have any realistic chance in super-selectives.

No. Are you serious about 11+ prep? We suggest you carefully plan out holidays in Year 5 and defer it for Year 6 instead.

He is only 9 year old. There are 2 years in his prep so give him a chance to improve and refrain from stressing yourself and the little one. We have the tools and techniques to get writers out of children.

No pain no gain. Our children who made to the grammar school have worked hard and enjoyed the challenge. All parents are proud of efforts irrespective of the results. Please don’t waste our time if you don’t want your child to do hard work.

The exam pattern changes from year to year and the competition gets stiffer. If you already know everything, then teach him/her at home. If you want expert help, come to us.

Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts or easy ways of getting into grammar school. Either lower the target school or raise up the efforts.

The papers are Maths & English. All of our successful students are excellent at both subjects and not just Maths. Also, you could be excellent in isolation but you'll be able to better assess the capability after your child competes with other top students in our tuition.

It is very hard (and unfair) to assess the child one year before the tuition. It is like if one goes to learn swimming and instructor throws you in the ocean. 

Motivation is the key to success. A child may fail the assessment now but may very well pick up concepts and clear the exam. Therefore, the initial assessments may sometimes be detrimental to child's motivation. The children are assessed in almost every class and weaknesses are flagged to the parents.

Most of our parents come from 10-15 mile radius with some even beyond that. For example we have parents from Crawley, Ashford, Maidstone, Canary Wharf, Croydon/Sutton, Dartford, Bexley and East Sussex. You must make up your mind on commuting before signing up for the tuition. There is no harm trying to drive to Orpington and get a feel of the commute. 

There is no correlation between number of tuition & success at grammar school exams. You must carefully assess which tuition is best for him/her.

Is he the only child in class at primary school? You must try to enhance his level of focus and attention in a group. 

We have standard class timings based on capability. You need to decide the priority and change your schedule to fit our tuition and not the other way round.

Most of our parents come by word of mouth. Very few parents google up and they may not be sure about our tuition. The enquiries are handled via email. Once you have answered the initial set of questions, a seat offer is sent to you. You may email any additional queries or concerns. We can email or may speak to you and clarify your concerns.

We have a very large students base and don't get a chance to discuss your specific needs before you've signed up. It is also to make the best use of our time. Sometimes, enquiry parents ask questions and discuss for 45 mins and then don't sign up. I hope you understand.
